She don't use jelly

I thought I'd show you my new floral frock from Primarni which I wore it for an anniversary party at the weekend

It's a bit nice init.  I'm a sucker for a floral print!  These pictures were taken when we nipped out to get cash on the night.  As you can see it was fairly cold and windy

Dress - Primark
Leggings - no idea
Sandals - Dotty P's
Cardi - Discount brands shop
Return to Oz Key necklace - Zara Taylor

Those of you who've commented on my changing hair colour, your eyes do not deceive.  It was black, then it was sandy brown, then it was plum,  now it seems to have faded to a dark cherry colour.  A complex but mundane story involving a very indecisive woman and a lot hair colour removal product!

I expect it will be an ongoing saga!

As I mentioned in a previous post, I came back from my recent jaunt to France with only a nail varnish and a magazine.

Albeit a very nice OPI nail varnish in a perfect shade of candy pink (as modelled above)

It did however mean that I had holiday spends left over, woop!   I decided to stay in holiday mode and blow the rest on frivolous pretties which I thought I'd share

A collection of glorious pastel nail paints from Models Own and 'Cherry In The Air' by Escada.

I've also accumulated some charity shop treasures in the last couple of months

1.  The cutest mini trays, perfect for trinket storage.  2.  Pillowcases and tablecloth from the 25p each box.  3. Vintage children's books.  4.  Vintage books.  5.  A pair of gloriously tacky plastic baskets.

Not too bad eh?

Glasto is upon us.  Whether you're braving the festival or watching it from the comfort of your living room - enjoy! xxx

Holy Holy

Oh for the love of Bowie

Maybe it was the latest BBC4 documentary: David Bowie, Five Years which has inspired me to dig out my 30th anniversary edition of 'The Rise and Fall Of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars' album and play it at full volume.

Listening to the remastered version of this song is a spiritual experience

David, I love you

Talking 'bout Monroe and walking on Snow White

Sometimes a thinking person has to overlook their constant awareness of life's ambiguities in order to function in the real world.  Yes Uncle Walt was a member of the 'Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals' and yes, he may or may not have been a Nazi sympathiser.  But, taken purely at face value, The Disney Corportion has made some heartwarming films that have touched many a childhood.

At least that's what I told myself when we spent 3 glorious sun drenched days in Disneyland Paris

Any guesses what my favourite Disney film might have been...?

OK, so I may have got caught up in the atmosphere

It's pretty hard not to to be honest

Here is me hyperventilating with excitement in the Alice in Wonderland labyrinth.

I visited this part of the park several times during the course of our time there, hence the different outfits

"Mr Rabbit, oh Mr Rabbit..."

"Hey you there, stop kicking that mackerel"

 "a..e..i..o..uuuuuuu"

"Pardon me, but Mr 3, why must you paint them red?"

OK, I'm indulging myself a little here, but I absolutely adore everything Alice!

This queen was broken.  I thought she still looked quite intimidating

Bumping my head

The doormouse looking completely stoned

Tea at the March Hare Tea Rooms - yes please!

"Why you're nothing but a pack of cards"

My come hither look (see what I did there)

We honestly enjoyed ourselves so much that the time just flew.  Most importantly, Miss 6 loved every minute and was completely fearless when it came to going on all the rides

Obviously, we also explored the non-Alice parts of the park

They had C3PO!

Yeh that's right, the ears look better on me biatch

It's always quite funny seeing French people trying to recreate the all American experience.  The staff were generally fantastic, especially the guy who dressed up as a Jedi warrior and stayed in character to entertain the kids (and adults) queuing for the Star Tours experience

Incidentally, do you like the dress I'm wearing?  I received some nice comments about it on my last post.  It was sent to me to review by Warehouse

Here's what it looks like on the site

It was hard to choose just one dress as they have so many pretty, pastel coloured beauties on the site at the moment.  It arrived just before we went away and I was so glad as I absolutely wore it to death.  So much so that it didn't seem necessary to do a seperate post as there are so many photos of me wearing it here.  It's comfy, stretchy, versatile and definitely my go-to dress of the moment.  A major thumbs up from me.

Although I didn't buy very much on this holiday, I did come away from Disney with these 3 badges

So what about you?  Have you ever been to Disneyland?  Would you?  Do you have a favourite Disney film?

A Medieval Tale

Warning *lots o pics*

Nearby where we stayed in France was the beautiful medieval town of Sarlat which was so special I thought it deserved a post all of it's very own

Firstly, here is me wearing my new vintage yellow cotton dress for the first time.  A snip from Etsy.  And no, I'm not up the duff, just trying to hide a massive ice cream stain!

It was full of nooks and crannies, alleyways, courtyards and open staircases, just ripe for exploring

This would have been the town's water supply in medieval times.  The statue of Mary would have been considered to be the town's guardian

 I loved this doorway

We stopped for cocktails and selfies

I got plenty of use out of my novelty Primark sunnies

It's never long before my attention turns to rummaging for treasures, especially when in a new location.  Unfortunately, pickings were pretty thin.

Apart from the souvenir shops, the other local businesses consisted of wine and foie gras specialists, mini art exhibitions and artisan sellers

There were lots of model witches, goblins and faeries

I thought there might have been a bit of vintage on show in this shop, but alas it was another gallery.  It took some steel to resist running off with that yellow enamel coffee pot

This shop sold lots of very pretty vintage lace

Luckily the atmosphere of the place (and the available ice cream flavours) meant I could happily divert my mind away from hunting for treasures

The cathedral was amazing

This building is called 'Lanterne des Morts', lantern of the dead, and overlooked the cemetery from a hill

Finally, we stopped for drinks and ice cream at Jimmy's, a retro 50's diner

The staff there were young and cool and were playing the Sex Pistols really loudly which provided a welcome antidote to the other outlets who seemed to cater specifically for pretentious American and British tourists

A great way to round off the day

PS.  Thanks for your lovely comments on my last post; firstly about my dress - more on that to come.  Also on the gite, which I would gladly recommend if anyone is interested in a trip to those parts.  Feel free to mail me for details :)
